Terrible Service. Flatware dirty. Had to ask for everything. Waiter never asked how we were doing. Food was bad. Will not return. Would have given no stars. We paid for the food, but should not have.

I have never eaten AT this restaurant, but we get takeout from here all the time. I consider this one of the top Chinese restaurants in town. I absolutely love their fried rice and hot and sour soup. They are both must haves. They have the best pork fried rice in town. Beef n Broccoli is pretty good, but nothing outrageous. Only con is they are a bit expensive(compared to other Chinese restaurants in town), but we still keep going back!

The Sweet and Sour Chicken was terrible I have gotten better at the frozen section in the grocery store. There was a lot of undercooked chicken very little sauce and one piece of pineapple 2 pieces of green pepper and a lot of onion, no water chestnuts or any other vegetables, This use to be my favorite restaurant in Oro Valley but the service has been bad and the food going down hill for a couple of years now. It is time to find a different resturant.

We used to eat here all the time and loved it but the last 2 times we've gone it's been awful. Cold coffee (room temperature), cold soup, none of the standard Chinese dishes that we loved are on the menu. Dafuq happened?

The current review is 3.5 stars but I really liked our family experience last weekend. I had the Harvest Moon Lo Mein and my fiancé had the Dr Steve's Summer Special. I really liked the Lo Mein, great flavor and huge portion. Dr Steve's was an awesome mix of ten vegetables in a broth delivered in a cast iron pot that keeps your food warm the whole meal. I also tried some of the cashew chicken which I recommend also! The service was very nice and they even gave me a salad on the house because everyone else at the table either had soup or salad. Beware of the salad dressing - it's spicy but good. They also give you a fried crispy chips to nibble on while you wait for your food. I recommend not starting to eat them or you will keep reaching for the bowl! If in the Oro Valley area I would recommend giving Harvest Moon your business for some wonderful Chinese food!

Our favorite Chinese in Tucson. This visit we enjoyed two of their lunches on an unusually rainy afternoon. Nice hot & sour soup (neither too much of either - just right), and Happy Family and Crispy Shrimp. Delicious! Some rice and veggies to take home for our dog. Also, nice, crisp noodles to munch on as we enjoyed our drinks - beer & martini - and to eat with our soup. The sauces went well with the fried shrimp. Only wish this restaurant was closer to our home.

We lived in China for a short time and fell in love with the food. We have tried many recommended Chinese restaurants and have been mostly disappointed as it seems the flavor profiles that should be in the traditional recipes are watered down for a local audience. We joke in our family it is "Cheese Whiz Chinese" When we went to Harvest Moon for the first time it was like we just got of the Star Ferry in Honk Kong. Wow, traditional flavors, colors and textures. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. If you want authentic, traditional Chinese food that is prepared the way it should be then this is the place for you.

I was very disappointed in Harvest Moon. I think that there's been a change in management since we last ate here. I ordered the Tart Cherry and Pine Nut with Chicken dish. There were no visible cherries in the dish. When I complained, the manager pointed out some flecks of cherries approximately the size of the red pepper flakes. He was not willing to replace it with something else in spite of my obvious dislike for the dish. Our service was poor as well with no efforts to refill water, etc. We will not be back and regret losing a restaurant that we previously enjoyed.

Kung Po tofu was so peppery that I could eat very little. Was supposed to have peanuts in it and had none. Very disappointing

Wonderful food and wonderful service. The general manager always greets with a smile. Very quick especially when ordering take out. Definitely will come here over and over again.

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had! We took my grandmother here for her birthday dinner. When first seated, the server took our drink order. My mother asked if the had filtered water and the server boasted that he had just purchased a water filter that day for the restaurant. I thought that was strange. AZ tap water is notoriously gross and this wasn't a new restaurant. We got our drink orders, and placed our food orders. My aunt had been a regular at this place in the past, but noticed her go-to chicken fried rice wasn't even on the menu, but the server said they could make it for her. While waiting, we all took our silverware from our cloth napkins. I noticed mine had a sticky/greasy film all over it-every piece. I thought about asking for a new set, but the other 4 people in my party had the same problem. My aunt was able to scrape through the layer of grossness with her fingernail to see how the silverware should look. You'd think we would've just walked out at this point, but I guess we were still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt since my aunt had eaten there before (though we were starting to think there might be new management). My mom and I opted to ask for chopsticks since they are single use and disposable (coming to you in the package). We requested them upon receipt of our food, and at this time, my grandmother ordered tea. We waited about 10 minutes for our chopsticks, and my grandmother NEVER GOT HER TEA!!! I ordered a vegan dish with deep fried tofu, my mom ordered the kale, beet and steak salad, one aunt ordered sweet and sour pork with a side of fried rice, the other got her chicken fried rice, and grandma ordered a sweet fried shrimp dish. I was the only person that liked my food. The salad was just okay, nothing special. The fried pork was soggy, and looked undercooked. The fried rice dishes didn't have any egg, so it looked like regular rice with some veggies, and tasted bland. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was gross. It didn't even resemble chicken; who knows what part of the chicken it came from! It was obviously not fresh. The only thing my grandma liked about her dish was the actual shrimp. We had three people out of 5 not even touching their plates, so you'd think our server would come by and check on us. Nope! After we got the chopsticks, he never came by again! I was going to ask for a container to take my leftover tofu and noodles, but no one ever came. We even put our napkins on the table and our hands in our lap to signify we were ready to leave. After I decided to stop eating (no one else had been touching food for a while), we waited another 20 minutes and we had to flag down another server and ask for our check. A $100 bill for gross food. We paid and left, letting the hostess at the front know how disappointed we were. Oh, and one of my aunts had ordered a lemon drop at the beginning of the evening (the rim of the glass is covered in sugar), and when she finished licking off the sugar, there was a lipstick stain on the glass!!! She wasn't wearing lipstick!!!! I can't believe we paid the bill. I hope this place goes out of business fast. Warn your friends and family to NEVER go to Harvest Moon!!!!

I used to like Harvest Moon, but not anymore. I've eaten here at least 12-15 times. The menu has changed and the food quality and taste has also, it's not good at all. Chicken Lo Mein was pasty overcooked noodles. Sweet and Sour Chicken was big hunks of breaded chicken with a sauce that tasted like orange juice. Very sweet and no sour. They offered to remake it but my then we had to leave and I never trust food re-made. They claimed they used yuzu for the sauce but I've had yuzu many times and it's tart and a little sour. The green tea was warm, not hot .......it was basically a bad meal for $60 and I will not waste my money here again. I could have had a better meal for $20 at Panda Express, which is fast food. For a place that charges what they do, when The waiter saw all the food left over and I told him I didn't want a box to take home, that should have even a clue to bring the manager right over to say something and try and make it right. I paid and left and will not return. I tipped the waiter , he did a good job and it wasn't his fault. When he told whoever I wasn't happy, they left him to handle it. Won't be back. Frankly I don't feel well now 30 mins after the meal, actually feel a little sick. Not a good experience. I'm done with them. They won't last long at this pace.

This place is full of contradictions. I ate here several years ago and enjoyed it. Went again tonight and was sadly disappointed. Not the same place I remembered. We came here because other places we called had long waits (Saturday evening). It was about 1/3 full, so we were seated right away. The menu was in a heavy leather holder (very upscale) but had super cheap, falling apart, inserts. I was very thirsty. Server brought me a small glass of iced tea that was mostly ice, which I drank in the first few minutes. Despite the empty glass being on the edge of the table, the server and a couple other employees walked past multiple times without ever offering a refill. So I took my husband's tea and drank most of his. I finally flagged someone down to request more tea. Then the food. Very bizarre. They put bell peppers in practically everything. We asked the server to make sure there were no peppers in my meal. But we also ordered spring rolls, and they came out with bell peppers in them. First, since when is that put in a spring roll, and second, if someone asked for no peppers in their entrée, doesn't that mean they don't want it in their side? In all, the food was not bad, just very strange, and overpriced. Harvest Moon wants to be fine dining, but it's not.

Harvest Moon is my favorite Chinese food in Oro Valley. I love that the chefs allow you to bump up the spiciness of your dish without a moments hesitation. The selection is the same I see at any other Chinese restaurant and that's nice but doesn't really warrant another star. The lunch, in my humble opinion, is better than the dinner. The atmosphere is cute and trendy and definitely a place you can go again and again.

Well....sorry to all my DEVOTED FOLLOWERS (none) but I have to report another non eating experience. I've been wanting to check out this spot for a few weeks now so my dad and I decided to make the long trek out to 12000 n Oracle and have some lunch. We were sure to make it before 3 because that's when their lunch special ends and we wanted to have our first visit be a cheap one....well....it was . It was FREE. You see....they aren't really open until 4pm. I wouldn't have been so disgruntled had we not made the 45 min drive all the way out there. In fact, even their Yelp page says they open Monday - Friday at 11 am. Once again, I am sorry to report that I have no actual review here. Nor will I ever. Maybe I'll check it out when it's a Panera in February. Ridiculous waste of time.

Now called Wanda's Kitchen. Spare rib entree came right of a microwave. Potstickers were terrible. Pork fried rice had pork which looked and tasted as though it had been cooked days ago. Even the Hoisin sauce was bad as it was excessively salty. I will not return.

The food is fantastic, and we are glad the new menu has been rolled out! Portion sizes of seem to be somewhat smaller than what they used to be, but are still huge!!! Don't mistake the large dishes for small portions! We go semi-regularly and have had our share of issues, but they have always fixed things! Get off of it folks! We all make a mistake or two, mention it to the manager/owner and it is fixed immediately. Making an error isn't the issue, it's how it is handled once recognized that matters in my opinion. Can't say enough great things about Harvest and the new menu, hope they are around for many, many years to come!

I made the reservation for 6.30 Sunday evening. We've always enjoyed harvest. On arrival only a few tables were occupied and several couples were waiting inside the door. I checked in with a waitress who came by. She didn't care about the reservation but asked us to wait with the others. I pointed out almost all tables were empty, she said they were too busy in back. After ten minutes and no movement one couple sat down with no waitress, and the rest of us left. One person mentioned the restaurant changed ownership and this was what had happened. Too bad.

Having lived in Asia for two years, I am picky as to what I like here. The food was almost inedible. I think they are trying to hard to be fusion and it doesn't work.

Oh Harvest Moon. I had such high hopes. I went there for dinner last night and was immediately pleased with the look of the place. We were seated right away and our server greeted us shortly. While we did not have place settings I didn't really worry about that. Our server took our appetizer order, duck sliders and rice balls. A while after ordering the server came back and said they out of the rice balls. Strike two.... We got egg rolls instead and ordered our meals. Steamed fish, wok seared filet medium rare and lo mein with tofu. Three separate orders for three separate people. The lo mein was brought out first along with three plates. There was no tofu in it. Strike three... Next they brought the streamed fish. It was seven tiny pieces of fish in the biggest frigging bowl ever. I'm not joking. It was an appetizer sized meal. And guess what it cost me. TWENTY ONE DOLLARS!!! Super Strike!!! Next my filet came out. It was wrapped in foil and on a later plate that they set on fire. Ok. Really nice presentation but so much for medium rare. After burning my food for a minute or two the server put the still on fire plate in front of me and says, and I quote "As long as you don't lift it you should be okay." What the heck??? After waiting a while for the fire to go out I opened the foil and was shocked to see crispy cubes of beef simmering in veggies. Not the wok seared filet I'd imagined. At this point I was so done. So very done. To top it off nothing at all was good. The fish was chewy, the lo mein bland (and when they brought out the tofu it was just plain tofu on a plate) and the steak. Well it was extremely well done, bland and full of gristle. I will give it to them, they didn't charge me for the steak but for two appetizers, a glass of wine, bland lo mein and seven chewy fish pieces I paid $50.00. Not impressed. Not at all. I went next door to San Carlos grill and got a good meal. I will not go to Harvest Moon again.

I used to love this place, the food was great and everyone used to be so wonderful. Going back again was almost like night & day.. It tasted like the food was prepared hours before hand. (I wouldn't be surprised if it was). Never again..

From top to bottom the most horrific restaurant experience EVER. The owner is out of her mind if she thinks her restaurant will be able to sustain in Oro Valley. 1. Waited 1 hour and 20 min for a to go order then there were 3 tables and 2 people at the bar. 2. I was over charged and didn't notice until I got home. I've attempted to contact Wanda, the owner, and she has yet to call me back to reimburse me the money she stole from me. 3. NO RICE when I got home. 4. I waited 10 min to even be handed a menu. This place is a total joke and she had the most arrogant smirk on her face as she said sorry. Then, she chuckled. Huh? A gentleman who also ordered a Togo 1 hour after me received his food before me! Head to GMG on La Canada and Lambert. Harvest Moon is a total joke.

Ok this is the FIRST asian place that I have seen quinoa on the menu: which is a VERY BAD THING. 1 quinoa's flavor really doesn't play well with asian flavors unless you force it with a lot of sauces thus negating any health benefits of using quinoa, and number 2 Special lady friend is deathly allergic to quinoa (took two trips to the er to figure that one out) so we go to asian restaurants to avoid that stuff. but good news there are many other reasons to avoid this place. I asked the waitress whats the Szechwan tofu and vegitables (as everything on the vegi menu was crazy white people fusion that sounded horrible, seriously there are a hell of a lot of real and real good Chinese vegi dishes as devout buddhists dont eat meat and there are a whole lot of devout buddhists in china... anyways back to the story) She couldnt tell me what was in it so she had to go and come back. To which she says it is vegetables and tofu in a brown sauce. Well thanks for that it was super helpful and insightful I couldnt figure out that szechwan tofu and vegetables had tofu and vegetables with some sort of nondescript sauce it was so illuminating. (sarcasm) See what I was trying to figure out is if it was mapo tofu which sounds like it could have been, but no one who cooks it in the szechwan style would have ever told inept helper monkey it was a "brown sauce." So I passed and went for the vegi lo mein, which will come as a shocker that it was not actually lo mein but ho fun I know BFD. However with the name "vegetable lo mein" it was severely lacking in vegetables (and lo mein for that matter). This place LOVES its bell peppers they where everywhere. Even in dads cashew chicken, which was, ok to very average. Mom ordered the beef broccoli which again was just ok to average. Special lady friend ordered shrimp with vegetables. which could also go under the name Precooked shrimp, bell peppers, cabbage and a lackluster watery gingeriffic moo goo gai pan sauce that isnt moo goo gai pan because we put ginger in it and that makes it different. The crab puffs were ok, a bit oily, but generally good. And they refilled my soda, not quickly or often but they actually did and I didnt have to ask, although maybe I should have. but all of that when you factor in the price isnt that good of a deal. If it were say 2/3's the price it might have got 2 (well 1.5) stars but quality vs price really makes me want to give it 1 star. look I eat at enough true ethnic asian food places where me and the special lady friend are the ONLY white people there so I can deal with anti white rascism but dont serve me ho fun and call it lo mein because you think I wont know or care, or hire a non chinese waiter who doesnt know the food because you think I want to deal with some one who speaks good english. I would rather get told in broken english about a "spicy, tingle... very good" (yes an actual description I got once) sauce than a "brown sauce". And put some damn chop sitcks down on the table if we dont use them they will still be wrapped and you can give them to the next people. Bottom line: Clearly people who gave this place 4 or 5 stars have never had good/real chinese food. Seriously go to GMG yelp.com/biz/gmg-chinese… they are much better, much much better, leaps and bounds better. Unless proximity to the movies is the paramount aspect of restaurant selection then this place cant be beat. Or you just want to be treated like just another round eye with a wallet.

2/5 Egg Rolls 3/5 Cashew Chicken 4/5 Singapore Noodles 3/5 Egg rolls were small, homemade, slightly greasy but lacking much of any flavor, would not order again. Cashew chicken was about what you would receive at a mall Chinese joint. Singapore noodles were good but the usually pairing is with pork which they did not even offer as a choice. Also the noodles are very milmdly spiced so calling them spicy on the menu seems a little overkill imho.

New menu has turned a formerly good restaurant into fast food. I want more than stir fry (can do that at home). Nothing on the wine list goes with hot/spicey dishes. So disappointed in the changes and won't be back.

    Went there today after the movie, ordered the grilled salmon.. what I got was some kind of white fish. I notified the waitress, she checked with the cook who said it was salmon - but after the waitress looked at it she agreed it wasn't. There was no adjustment made for the dinner since the manager wasn't there. No offer for a follow up call etc.. not happy and won't be back;

Next to movie theatre: pretty, convenient, very nice food presentation. This restaurant definitely looks a big step above mall restaurants and more than a cut a most Chinese restaurants. Pretty modern sleek interior and a well controlled comfortable noise level. The waiter was very helpful even though he was very busy on a Saturday night just before movies start. We're just moving to Oro Valley and trying out restaurants. My wife had a fried tofu and vegetables dish, my sister sweet and sour shrimp, and I had crispy shrimp. They also ordered pork fried rice. They both enjoyed their meals but I found mine to be too dry to eat. It felt like something was missing, there should have been some kind of sauce and vegetables with the dish, not just over fried shrimp on the plate and a small bowl of rice on the side. The shrimp were good just over cooked and dry. Since I couldn't eat my meal, I got to share my wife's. her's looked good and had good ingredients but lacked flavor. I just don't understand why a relatively expensive restaurant that takes so much care in everything including putting a line of hot mustard in the sweet and sour sauce can produce flavorless over cooked food. The waiter noticed I couldn't eat my meal and took it off the bill, another sign of a well run restaurant. This could be a fine restaurant if they replaced the chef.

After reading the reviews, I was concerned about coming here, but we had delicious food. The restaurant has new items on its menu and we ordered two of them: the Dim Sum Plate and the multigrain rice wrapped in a lotus leaf. This is a great place to go after visiting Catalina State Park (it's just outside the park entrance in a shopping strip). The staff were pleasant and we definitely will be back!

Sadly, it seems that with the economy the portion sizes and the quality of food seem to be in a steady decline, right along with service. The last time we got anything from here we ordered take-out; the protein in the entree wasn't prepared as ordered, in the "vegetable deluxe" there was a surplus of cabbage and very little (if any) of the other vegetables that are listed in this entree, they failed to give us steamed rice and the service leaves much to be desired. Hopefully things begin to improve, because the last three times we've been there it has not been good.

Best part was the fried wontons! The dishes were sloppy and gloppy, the vegetables way overcooked and lacking color. We ordered a Szechuan chicken and a Sweet and Sour pork. The chicken dish didn't have distinctive flavors, it all muddled into one. The pork had raw onions, which were crispy, but one bite and you couldn't taste anything on the plate. Maybe that was a good thing. Very disappointed in what could be a real good ethnic dining experience.

Worst service ever! Decided to grab some lunch here; we ordered, got our drinks, got some soup, then watched 5 tables seated after us order, eat their meals, and get their checks! We FINALLY were able to have another waiter find our waitress and when she came to our table she started from the very beginning as though she had never taken our order to begin with. It was bad...and that's putting it nicely. We ended up at In-N-Out

Not the best Chinese food ever. Server wasn't all that helpful and disappeared a lot. I didn't enjoy the food very well. I did like the egg drop soup. Probably will not return. We ordered the house lo mien, which comes with chicken, beef, and shrimp. The chicken and the beef were both rubbery and weird textured. We also ordered sesame chicken. It was huge chunks of chicken with breading that just fell right off the meat, I personally don't like huge chunks of chicken... and the flavor wasn't all that great, I ended up sending that back.

My boyfriend and I went to eat here before a movie, got seated quickly and drinks were quick too. Our server was very nice but when we asked for hot tea ( thinking we were going to get green tea) we got something like Lipton instead. For our entrees we ordered crispy duck and fruity pork. Both the duck and pork were overdone and very dry. Pretty much not edible. The rice was good though. When my boyfriend asked if there was supposed to be bones in the pork the manager came over and before he could even say anything she asked if the meat was tough. He said it was and instead of fixing it she just told him it was more tender close to the bone. We figure there shouldn't be bones in bite size pieces of pork. An offer for an alternative would have been much appreciated, but was not. We both work in the industry so we have an idea of how things should be handled. Pretty disappointed with the food and manager. 3 stars for service.

What happened to Harvest Moon??? The last three times have been a disaster with food and customer service. The food has been oily, greasy and doesn't have the taste it once had. This used to be my (and many other friends) favorite restaurant. I went to lunch with my daughter a day ago. My food was so greasy I could not eat it. My daughter had a beef dish. It did not taste good. The manager came over and at once became very defensive, telling my daughter it could not be the meat, it was probably her. When I said I tasted it as well and it was not good, she said it couldn't be the meat, she used good meat, and suggested it was the sauce and we were just not used to it. She left and came back saying she had taken 5.00 off of our ticket rather than the whole price of the meal because my daughter had eaten her salad. The good food and times at The Harvest Moon are obviously memories... After similar experiences 3 different times, I don't believe there will be a 4th!

The Harvest Moon is one of Oro Valleys best kept secrets Quincy is the chef and owner along with his wife Wanda what a great restaurant. Since 2003 my husband and I have taken our son to enjoy many lunches and dinners we have always had a great experience, the food is awesome. My Husband has been eating there since they opened in 1999 and introduced me to Wanda and Quincy they are so nice. They are moving to a new location right next door to the Century Movie Theatres at the Oro Valley Market Place what a great location see link below. This will take place June 11, 2010 a great Sunday Brunch is planned. If you have a Business or a Party that needs catering give them a call very reasonable and very good... Hope this helps if you are looking for a great place to dine. We went here for my father in laws bday, and the food was great. We started with the potstickers which were delish!!! Also had the sesame chicken and general tso's chicken, both very tasty and high quality. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 15 minutes, not too terrible for a Friday night I suppose. We will be back for sure.

Ok, I was expecting a little better than Panda Express. I was visiting Tucson and searched Yelp for dinner. The restaurant was packed and I thought "well it must be decent but it certainly does not look like it serves traditional Chinese food" FOOT IN MOUTH...it was great. I've traveled thru China at least 8 times and I have to say the food at Harvest Moon was pretty traditional and really great! Bravo for the taste and quality! The variety was outstanding and I was very impressed. I would certainly return!

OK, living in Catalina is definitely not good for someone who likes superb food. So, thankfully, just down the road is Harvest Moon. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever eaten in, including some of the great ones in Seattle. Try the Singapore noodles with shrimp, or the crispy duck (heaven), the crispy scallops with spicy salt! Great ambiance, people, food and drink.

I am giving Harvest Moon five stars because it is as good as it gets -- in Tucson. If I was in another city, then it might not stand out very much, but I'll take what I can get here (meaning a decent Chinese restaurant). This is the best Chinese restaurant that I've tried here. Lunch specials are fairly straightforward -- pick a dish and it comes with a bowl of egg flower soup or hot and sour soup. They serve jasmine rice or brown rice. I especially liked the steamed fish that we had for dinner last week. It came in a flavorful sauce (mixture of oil and soy sauce) that tasted as authentic as Mom's. The restaurant has an Asian-inspired decor that is clean and modern. No tacky red and gold decorations here. It seems like a family operation with a few youngsters and teens hanging around, which increases the friendly vibe here. Harvest Moon is located in the Rancho Vistoso center off Oracle, so it is a bit of a drive for those who live in Tucson. That said, if you're going for a hike in Oro Valley or doing some sightseeing up north, then give it a try.

Last week, my husband and I stopped in at Harvest Moon for an early dinner (to beat the crowds!) We shared the ever-popular crab puffs for a starter and each ordered the Shrimp with Spicy Salt. This is my new favorite shrimp dish, as the shrimp features a delicate crust and the spicy salt therein had just the right "zing" to it. It's served on a bed of crispy noodles, and our server, Sally told us that the kitchen could adjust the spice to our liking. I ordered it spicy, and my hubby got his extra spicy. We both ordered brown rice with our meal and rounded things out with their famous egg flower soup. THIS is my all-time favorite soup as the mushrooms add texture and an earthy flavor. The corn kernels add just a touch of sweetness. We each had a Ginger Lemonade cocktail to finish things off. This refreshing drink took the edge off the hot summer night. We also learned that Harvest Moon just joined The Tucson Originals! This is great news as we frequent other restaurants that are members of this wonderful organization (we try to dine at independent establishments as much as possible) and have always heard great things about it. Here's wishing them all the best!

This is the second time we've been here. The first time, the bartender served us on the patio and openly flirted with the hostess, ignoring us for long periods of time and forgetting to bring things. This time, we ordered pickup. We were quoted 30 minutes, and, an hour and fifteen minutes later, are still waiting for our food order, as it has been "misplaced". (We later discovered the person who misplaced our order was Wanda, the owner.) The woman waiting next to us has been waiting over an hour for her pickup order, a disgruntled man just walked out, patrons at tables are looking around for servers to notice them, and people standing outside are discussing the 18 people standing at the door earlier. The staffing here is awful. The restaurant is only 1/3 full of patrons and they (both the front and back of the house staff) are barely able to keep up. We watched the manager on duty wiping CLEAN tables, (while the bar and all of the empty tables covered in dirty dishes were left the duration of our hour plus visit) and suddenly became "unavailable" when we asked to talk to one. The food is decent, but not worth the hassle. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Not much positive to talk about here. Ordered the spicy calamari as an appitiser and it was not ! 11 pieces of crunchy calamari with no flavor other than the old oil it was fried in. Then after 35 minutes out came the eggplant in spicy garlic sauce. DISGUSTING... and the Orange peel beef was a crunchy over fried mess of brown corn starch laden sauce with as much flavor as my day old underwear. Totally disgusting !!! Our Asian server was overwhelmed, as the restaurant was a little busy it being Friday evening at 7:30. What I find really alarming are the hispanic cooks who obviously do not know the subtle nuances of Asian cooking and for that matter suck at pretending to be cooks. If this restaurants is one of the best kept secrets of Oro Valley, well then keep it a secret as this type of food needs not to be shared with the world. After a quick trip to Lee Lee market I make much better asian food at home. Save your $$$.

This is the nicest Chinese restaurant in Oro Valley. The tofu dishes are good, and they offer brown rice as an alternative to white.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Friendly, fresh and fast. We've been here many times over the past several years and never been disappointed. No MSG!

Superb chinese food with a flair, good portions, spiced up right, no gloppy brown sauce, beef dish was very tender, we had enough to take home. The appetizers were excellent, the tempora veggies were crisp, hot and fresh. Service was attentive, will come back again. Going to cheaper Chinese places just not worth it.

I've eaten in and gotten carry out. Definitely skip the carry out. It's obvious they don't care about that aspect of their business. Eating in is better but not much. I won't go again even if the people I'm with want to.

I ordered a gift card on April 18th and my credit card was charged same day. I have followed up five times now via messages, conversations with Wanda (owner?) and emails to wandaharvestmoon@gmail.c… . Are you going to send me the gift card or just keep my money? If it hasn't been mailed yet, please refund my credit card today. Like · · May 16 at 9:38am 5/16...After getting a hold of Wanda on Friday she changed her story and said she tried sending me the gift card twice but my address didn't work.... I ordered multiple cards from other places and none of them had trouble. She said she would "re send" and email me the tracking. That was three days ago. Still no tracking or gift card or response from her. 5/20 Final update- called Wanda again today. This time she said they were having trouble with their 3rd party handling gift cards. She said she didn't actually try shipping the card even though she told me she had tried sending it twice but my address was bad... I asked for a refund and she said it wasn't her issue...? I ordered the gift card from their website. She said the only way to get my money back was to dispute the charge on my card... Avoid this place

Poor customer service. Went in during lunch time. It wasn't busy. There was maybe 10 ppl in there. Stood at the front waiting to be seated and all of the employees just looked at us. No "hello." No "welcome." Finally 5 minutes later, one of the two waitresses working came to the front and seated us. We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken. And when the waitress took our order she said "um, I need to write this down but I don't have a pen. " Seriously??? So as she's digging through her apron, we just sit there and wait. When she finally got to writing down our order, she gets my order wrong 3x. The food was mediocre and salty. Our dim sum appetizers were cold and tasted bad. The salad dressing tasted like soysauce. The entrees were not tasty at all. The calamari was the only thing we ordered that tasted good. In summary, we will not be returning.

Was in for lunch on a Sunday 9-21-2014, there were only 3 other couples in the restaurant. Waitress did not bring the usual chips appetizer, had already given us or drinks and taken our orders, so asked if the were still doing it, they then brought it out, by this time we had already had our soups and salads. Took a really long time to get out order, there were three of us. I mean, really long for Chinese (in a not crowded restaurant). Could hear kitchen staff talking, laughing, having a good old time. When the meals came out, mine was Luke warm. Waitress was polite, but seemed distracted. Food tasted good. Brought us containers to take the leftovers home, but no bag to put it in, one was supplied after asking. We've eaten here many times before, have never had an experience like this one, so hopefully it was just an off day for them.

At Harvest Moon last night and we were extremely pleased with the food and all of the helpful staff, we had 30 minutes before our movie started and our server got us there with plenty of time to spare! Just a bonus....the potstickers were the best I'd ever had!! I think this place is a perfect date night spot.....dinner & a movie!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
